Red-tailed Hawk Again
After another Bigby jaunt in the rain, during the course of which we saw many wonderful birds (but no new ones, though the close rough-legged hawk was certainly a treat), we returned home and had the juvenile red-tail perching in the walnut again. I managed to get the scope on it and sketched through the bathroom window. This time it was facing me, though it did a convoluted turn (the wind has picked up) and then dropped down onto the field, probably picking up some hapless half-drowned rodent.
Previous: Ratty Red-tail Next: American Robin

Neat!! I’m glad I haven’t seen our chicken-nabber though. ;) Once we had a red-tailed perched a mere 8 ft from our bedroom window. Should have grabbed my sketch book then.
